BRAWA O Gauge Cement Silo wagons have arrived

We have today received a delivery of the BRAWA DB era 3 and era 4 Cement Silo wagons in O gauge. We have listed them on the site (N, S and O range) as we believe they will be very popular (they are superb). We have also received the BRAWA replacement couplings at the same time; these are also listed.

BRAWA O gauge Omm52 and E037 Wagons now arrived

We have today received the first of our order for these steel sided open wagons of the DB and superb is an understatement. The couplings are compatible with and do couple to Lenz stock but they are very much finer and less obtrusive. The wagons are available via our website , go to N, S & O gauge in our menu to the left side of the home page then in categories to German rolling stock.  Limited number now, more to follow and well worth the wait!! Brawa advise that they will be releasing the couplings as a spare part for those wishing to replace the Lenz coupling (the Brawa area direct replacement), we will bw stocking these (in quantity) when they are available.

Now appointed Atlas O gauge dealer

We are delighted to advise that we have been appointed an authorised Atlas O gauge dealer. We are placing our first order next week for track, structures, locos and rolling stock. We will also be submitting our advance orders for locos and rolling stock due for delivery in the first 2 quarters of 2012. It is our intention to stock mainly 2 rail items however we will stock 3 Rail items to meet customer requirements.

Now stocking 'S' Gauge

We have reached agreement to purchase the stock of 'S' Gauge items from Belfast Caboose. We expect the first items to arrive in the next few days. We intend to stock both Hi-Rail and Scale locomotives, rolling stock and track from American Models and S Helper service, the 2 biggest suppliers other than Lionel.

S Gauge is 1:64, mid way between HO and O gauges. It is big enough to have the size impression of O but small enough to fit where HO can. We intend to build a demo layout which we will take to exhibitions to show the excellent running capabilities and where fitted the superior sound (due to the size).

If we haven't got it we'll try and get it!

Duha Loads - catalogues

We hold good stocks of Duha loads, we have over 200 items in stock in N, HO/OO and O scales, many of which are 'scaleless' being usable in scales other than their nominal range e.g. a small motor in HO is a medium one in N, a large pipe in HO is a small one in O etc. 

We are working on the catalogue scanning it so that it can be downloaded as a pdf file for your convenience however it is a large file so we will probably split it for ease of use. Unfortunately there are not easy divisions between scales as a number of the items are made to a similar pattern in different scales, size being the difference between them (appearance being similar although all are handmade so no 2 are identical).

We've moved!

We have moved to larger premises and are now open again. We haven't moved far, only next door but one into unit 11&12 Market Way, however this enables us to display better our products and gives more room for customers to browse in comfort and without feeling crowded. We have separated our kits section (buildings, military, aviation and vehicles) from our railway section (locos, rolling stock, track, figures and control items). Why not drop in next time you are in the area.

We have now been appointed as an ExactRail dealer, the only one in South West England.  We are very excited awaiting our first delivery of HO freight cars which are currently sitting in HM Customs, as soon as we receive them we will post these on our website. N cars to follow later on our next order.

On-Line Shop

We understand that there have been problems accessing our on-line shop. We apologise for this which was due to a change in 'engine' (no pun intended!). We have taken the opportunity to re-organise the shop so as to make access easier. We have separated HO from N gauge (with O) and from Controllers and Service. Hayle MRC and Duchy Railroaders

Following the fire at their previous club rooms Hayle MRC have found new premises at Praze-an-Beeble, Cornwall. This is a substantial property with great potential. Duchy Railroaders have agreed to join them in these premises as the American section of Hayle MRC. The new location will enable Hayle MRC and Duchy Railroaders the room to erect all of their layouts for operation, work or new construction. Duchy Railroaders have access to members layouts including an O gauge, 2 HO plus a number of N gauge. A new HO layout 22 ft x 9ft 6 and an On30 layout plus a new N gauge layout are under consideration or design.

Hayle Model Railway Club

Hayle Model Railway Club suffered a serious fire at the building in which are their clubrooms. There has been some smoke damage to the clubroom and to part of their O scale layout. It will be some time before they are able to resume normal club activities BUT their exhibitions are UNAFFECTED. The planned exhibitions will go ahead.
Richard Polley, Chairman, told us that the May exhibition did not have any of the Hayle layouts planned for display and alternative plans for the August exhibition are already in place.

Duchy Railroaders - A new group for Cornwall's American Railroad Modellers

Following the inaugural meeting of American Railroad modellers on 30th January a group has been formed called Duchy Railroaders. The group's founder members total 14 and are principally N gauge and HO scale modellers with some narrow gauge (On30 and HOn3) and large scale interest. Some are members of the NMRA but not all.
It is intended to build group layouts in both N and HO scales for exhibition and group running rights. One of the principal aims of the group is to help newcomers to American Model Railroading with information,  advice and (where required) assistance.

Team Track Trading - Sponsor Hayle MRC exhibitions

We are delighted to announce that Team Track Trading and the Hayle Model Railway Club have agreed a sponsorship deal for the next 2 years. Team Track Trading have supported the club's exhibitions (Bank Holiday weekend in May and August) for some time but will now sponsor the events. Cornwall American Railroad Modellers Group

The inaugural meeting will be held at the Redruth Community Centre, Foundry Row, TR15 1AN on Saturday 30th January from 10.30 until 4.00.
Modellers of North American railroads are welcome, especially those resident in Cornwall.

We now stock Gaugemaster and Peco ranges.

DC/DCC controllers, track of all gauges and scenic materials to list just a few.
This also gives us new access to the products of KATO, Atlas, Piko, Noch, Busch, Faller, Ratio and Wills all of which complement our existing range of products.
We cannot hope to carry stocks of all of these products (not yet anyway!) but we are constantly expanding our ranges and the stocks - if we haven't got it we will get it for you.

New Items From Athearn

N Gauge
Athearn have released more vehicles in their N gauge range. Newly available are Mack trucks with trailers for the period early 1950s to 1970s the Mack B for the steam to diesel transition period (and up to 1966) and the Mack R from 1966 onwards.

HO Gauge
New Genesis versions of the F45 are now available with more liveries to come. Now available are F45s in BN Cascade Green and MRL Dark Blue. Santa Fe FP45s to come.

Soundtraxx and Blackstone Models Now in Stock

We have now concluded arrangements that enable Team Track Trading to sell the range of Soundtraxx and Blackstone models in the UK. Soundtraxx have an exciting range of sound decoders and Blackstone models have an exquisite range of HOn3 narrow gauge (HO scale, 3ft gauge on 10.5 mm track) locomotives and rolling stock. These ranges are now in stock - Blackstone Models stock is limited. See our on-line stock, if we do not have it please ask and we will try and obtain. The Blackstone Models range has been so successful worldwide that many items are already sold out at Blackstone!
